The Environmental Degradation and Sociocultural Survival of Tribes in India
Main Article Content
Abstract
Environmental degradation is often analyzed at the physical level; however, there is a sociocultural dimension to it as well. Due to unequal distribution of resources, it is tribal communities which bear its cost, so much that some of these tribal communities are either endangered or on the verge of extinction. Environmental degradation thus transcends to the sociocultural and economic realm, putting these communities in a vulnerable position.
